Why hello there, I am Chinwe.

And I am a big believer that “hello” should be extraordinary. I like big audacious problems, ideas with intentions, and stacks of fried plantain that exceed the size of a normal serving dish. I believe in pursuing dreams with gumption, and in making a meaningful difference in society. Because impact is at the core of who I am and what I do.

I am a philomath, an engineer, a data & tech enthusiast, and a problem solver. A global influencer whose essence lies in maxie (n.) – a boldness of spirit and limitless possibility. Like Nicola Tesla, but with more 21st-century tech finesse. Or Oprah, sans free car giveaways.

Wait, what? Yes, it all goes back to my fourth year in high school when the senior school counselor decided to assign me to a non-math class. My dad being the typical African dad, always wanted me to become an electrical engineer just like he practiced. And so he followed me one day to school just to see the counselor, and he gave her a very compelling and thought-provoking speech on how I needed to be placed in a math/science class. His confidence in my ability to excel in high school and become an engineer someday drove me to do excellently well in my high school finals and I was one of the only five students who had a distinction in further mathematics in the finals that year! Turns out that being rejected initially, into the math class, was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Because the whole episode with my dad coming to school to speak to the counselor drove me to my love for math and problem-solving. And it was then that l became wholly and irrevocably – me.

As a homegrown Nigerian, data scientist and machine learning engineer in training, my life’s work is rooted in the intersection of passion and purpose, between engineering, technology, community, and social impact. I like boots made for walking and dresses made for doing. I like people who dream BIG. And dance as they mean it. Because otherwise, why bother (really?)

I am a business, engineering, and tech enthusiast with strikingly diverse experience, having worked in a few companies and also, led a startup. while currently working with one of the biggest government agencies in Nigeria as well as working on several nonprofit initiatives. My background and interests are in business development, analytics, and product management. Which is a subtle way of saying I aspire to always be the “super glue” between business and technical teams. My superpowers are multi-faceted. I am really good at making the famous Nigerian Jollof rice, embracing awkward moments, and notably – leading people to translate ideas into action. Weaving a compelling narrative along the way.

So this is my story. And it's only just the beginning.
